| Team Selection for visit to North Midlands |
Following the County Squad sessions at Darlington tonight, the Durham Selectors
have named the following team and replacements for the game at Stourbridge on
Saturday kick off 3.00 p.m.
Injury has dictated a number of changes to the Durham line up, No 13 David Haswell
)Westoe) has not recovered from his shoulder injury sustained in the Oxfordshire
game, his absence sees the recall of Hartlepool Rovers centre Andrew Foreman to
the centre.
Haswell's club mate Matthew Muchall sustained an ankle injury ten minutes into
the Oxfordshire clash and his replacement that day Mark Power (Hartlepool Rovers
) cannot travel due to work commitments. His absence results in flanker Michael
Taylor (Darlington) taking on the No 4 shirt and the back row is re-jigged. The
No 6 jersey goes to Tony Irwin (Sunderland), Irwin's No 8 spot goes to Darlington
Mowden Park's Matthew Holmes who moves from 7. the resulting vacancy at 7, is
filled by the welcome return after injury of Darlington veteran Martin Howe.
On the bench Harry Iles (Durham University) is named along with Nigel Douglas
(Westoe) for their first County call ups. Gareth Foreman is also named and could
join brother Andrew on the field during the game. Toro Higuchi (Durham City) is
travelling reserve, after winning his County Cap when he came on late in the Oxfordshire
