County Under 20's Championship Durham U20's were put under pressure straight from the kick off, by a Northumberland side whose forwards were too strong for their Durham counterparts. Fortunately Northumberland were not able to press home their superiority, taking a 29 points to 5 half time lead.

After the break Durham took the game to Northumberland and in a more even contest looked like the side most likely to score. Northumberland however managed to regained their composure and scored 5 tries in the last quater of the game to win 62-5

The next game is away to Yorkshire on Sunday 12th February 2012 at Ilkley RFC, Kick Off 2:15pm

Cumbria had no answer to to pace of the Durham side who scored 7 tries to lead 43 points to 3 at half time. U 20 County Championship
A restructure of the Northern group U20's take place this season. The change means the scrapping the old Championship system of all 6 counties playing each other and moving to 2 groups of 3, this year East and West and the following year North and South so that all 6 keep in contact rather than have a possible situation where a couple may never play each other again
